One of the occupants of a small airplane that crashed into the Brazos River on Christmas Day has been released from a Fort Worth hospital, while the other is listed in “fair” condition.

The occupants, both Granbury-area residents, were flown to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth after the accident late Saturday afternoon. On Tuesday a spokesperson for the hospital told the Hood County News that Michael Sager had been released and Dorothy Sager was listed in “fair” condition.

Department of Public Safety Sgt. Ricky Hunter provided the Hood County News with information on Monday from the preliminary crash investigation:

The aircraft is described in Trooper Hunter’s report as a 1942 Boeing single-engine biplane that was “flying low and struck a power line at approximately 4:30” Saturday afternoon before crashing into the river.

“The Federal Aviation Administration will be conducting an investigation into the crash,” Hunter’s news release continued. “No additional information is available from DPS.”
