Reminder: Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards

Hood County Crime Stoppers is reminding everyone that it pays cash rewards for anonymous tips on local crimes that have occurred in Hood County.

One recent local example was in the case of Thomas Edward Demopoulos, a 55-year-old fugitive who had evaded capture for eight years. A reward was given to a tipster for information that led to his arrest, according to a Crime Stoppers news release.

Anyone with information on a crime that happened in Hood County can call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 817-573-TIPS (8477).

The Hood County Crime Stoppers website states, “By guaranteeing a caller`s anonymity Hood County Crime Stoppers allows the caller to give information in a positive atmosphere without the prospect of retribution. By offering cash rewards for information leading to indictment or arrests, the program encourages otherwise reluctant callers to provide information.”
