Second pedestrian killed on Tin Top Highway

The report of a second pedestrian who died after being struck by a vehicle on Tin Top Highway (FM 2580) north of Granbury was confirmed in an email to the Hood County News from the Department of Public Safety.

The email from DPS Sgt. Richard Hunter states:

“On November 30, 2022 at approximately 6:23 a.m., Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers investigated a crash on Farm-to-Market Road 2580 five miles from Granbury.  

“Preliminary investigation indicates a 2005 Chevrolet Impala was traveling south on FM 2580 when the vehicle struck a pedestrian who was walking in the roadway. The pedestrian, Joshua T. Burleson, 26, of Azle, died at the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet, Garlyn Dale Eye, 54, of Granbury, was uninjured.”

The HCN reported the death of a 29-year-old Granbury man who died Monday, Nov. 28, after being struck by a vehicle near the same area. Both incidents took place before sunrise.
