David R. Harmon, Jr.

David Richard Harmon, Jr., 90, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and friend passed away Thursday, October 24, 2019 in Weatherford, Texas.

David was born October 1, 1929 in Hempstead, Texas to David R. Harmon and Kathleen Chapman Harmon. He retired after 20 years of Honorable Service in the United States Air Force where he served during the Korean and Vietnam wars earning multiple medals including the Silver Star.

After retiring from the service in 1968, David continued to work in the oilfield for Gulf Energy and Tidewater. He loved fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Louise Mitchell and Katherine Harmon.

Survivors include his wife Cillie May Harmon, sons David Richard Harmon III, Milton Monroe Jr., Charles Monroe, and daughter Cherie Harmon. He is also survived by 13 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, 7 great-grandsons, and 4 great-granddaughters.

David was a member of Live Oak Baptist Church and the Stephenville American Legion.

Friday, November 1, visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wiley Funeral Home in Lipan, Texas. Funeral Service will be at Live Oak Baptist Church at 580 Live Oak Road in Santo, Texas, 76462 on Saturday, November 2nd starting at 11:00 a.m.
