Michael Garrett "Mick" Michaud lost his fierce 3 month battle with cancer on Jan. 25, 2020. During that time, family and friends surrounded him at his home, at the hospital, and finally, in hospice care at his daughter's home. During that time, the family's relationships grew deeper and sweeter while caring for Mick and each other. When asked about his obituary, he wanted to say that the love he has for his family will never stop, even after his death. He loves them all that strongly.

Mick closed his computer consulting business in 2005 and pursued other entrepreneurial interests, including building custom homes and selling real estate. He established his real estate company, Distinctly Texas Lifestyle Properties, LLC, in Granbury, Texas, specializing in farm and ranch properties. He owned this company at the time of his death.

He is survived by his parents, Carroll and Gwen (Garrett) Michaud of Shreveport, Louisiana, the love of his life, Trudy Larkins of Granbury, Texas, three daughters, Aleha Landry and husband Ben of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Erin Gray and husband Jeff of Ft Worth, Texas, and Micala Morris and husband Eli of Windham, Texas, one sister, Karen Hoy and husband Pat of Mansfield, Texas, two brothers, Russ Michaud and wife Kate of Ponder, Texas, and John Michaud and wife Amy of Madison, Mississippi, along with seven grandchildren, one niece and 3 nephews.
