Robert Udell Thompson, 91, born in Tuscola, Texas passed away on July 13, 2019 in Granbury, Texas.
Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, July 17, 2019, Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, July 18, 2019, Acton Baptist Church with Tollie Bibb officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 PM, Thursday, July 18, 2019, Cottage Hill Cemetery in Celina, Texas. Arrangements are made by Wiley Funeral Home.
Udell was born in Tuscola, Texas, to Jessie Fern and Robert Ward Thompson on April 10, 1928. He went to school at Crozier Tech High School in Dallas. He attended classes at SMU. He married Emma Ruth Perry on June 27, 1947 in Dallas, Texas. He worked in mid-management for Sears Mail Order Company for 43 years. He was an active Deacon in Bethany Baptist Church and a 32nd degree Mason.
Udell Thompson is preceded in death by his parents.
Udell Thompson is survived by his wife, Emma Thompson and his daughters, Sharron and her husband John Sharp and Linda and her husband David Dowell. His grandchildren Jason and Kim Sharp, Jennifer and Chris Leister, Chris Irvin, Stevie Caldwell, Jimmy and Tracy Croteau. His great-grandchildren Kailin and Katie Hermes, Nikki Sharp, Emma and Rhett Leister, Carson and Cooper Croteau and one great-great grandson C.J. Hermes.
Pallbearers will be Jason Sharp, Christopher Irvin, Chris Leister, Jimmy Croteau, Joseph Jackson and Bert Wicks. Honorary Pallbearers: Kailin Hermes and David Rogers.
In lieu of flowers donations may be given to St. Jude Children's Hospital or The Salvation Army Texas Division Disaster Services.
