Roy passed peacefully with his beloved nieces at his side. Roy was born in Plainview Texas and as a child lived in numerous towns during those depression years. Eventually the family ended up in Albuquerque ,New Mexico. He graduated high school there and entered the University of New Mexico. Before graduating he joined the Navy and during the next 4 years he made 4 cruises to Korea aboard the USS Maddox. Upon his discharge Roy worked in the aerospace industry for a few years before returning to college. He completed his Electronic Engineering degree at the University of Colorado. After graduation he returned to a career in the aerospace industry. Upon retirement Roy traveled the country extensively in his RV and eventually settled in Kerrville ,Texas.
Roy is survived by his sister Bobbie Cooke of Corvallis Oregon, his brother John of Gibsonville ,NC his nieces Charlene Redinger and Gail Smallin of Granbury, his nephews Richard Cooke of Corvalis, Oregon Gerald Cooke of Eureka MT, Robert Cooke of Lacy ,WA, niece Pamela Dawson of Potomac, MD and niece Linda Ross of Salem, Oregon.
Roy 's final resting place will be the Dallas National Cemetary .
