William Matthew Henry, 90, of Granbury, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2020 at home. Graveside service: 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 9, 2020, Spring Creek Cemetery. Lie in state: 4:00 PM -8:00 PM, Wednesday, July 8, 2020, Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury. (Social distancing and masks required)

William was born on July 6, 1929 in Portageville, New York to Matthew and Catherine Henry. He married Joyce Eileen Morgan on September 2, 1948 in Chesterfield, South Carolina. They were happily married for 58 years. He and his wife shared household chores and a love of square dancing.

William was a family man, who cherished time spent with his four daughters. He enjoyed taking them on trips including one glorious three week coast to coast camping trip. Taking care of his children and grandchildren was his joy.

William devoted his life to service. He was a Deacon and member of Eureka Baptist Church in Weatherford. He served as a volunteer EMT for the fire de-partment and held many community offices.

William worked as a carpenter in high rise construction. He retired from Brown & Root in 1991. He was also an avid reader who enjoyed murder mysteries. He was preceded in death by his wife: Joyce Henry on November 4, 2006, his daughters: Eileen Parker arid Valerie Henry, and his grandson: John Whitenack.

William is survived by his daughters: Sheryl Hennessey and husband Pat of North Richland Hills, and Cynthia Lincoln and husband Gary of Granbury, eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
