PECAN PLANTATION BITS

A Mississippi native who has been a Texas transplant for 27 years, Diane Long is a wife, mother and English teacher who has written Pecan Plantation Bits for 14 years cumulatively. She spends her time gathering neighborhood news and teaching students how to avoid passive voice.

The Pecan Plantation Tennis Association enjoyed a brisk Friday evening filled with food from the barbecue grill, tennis play, and of course, fun and fellowship. The crowd appeared enthusiastic at this first official social of 2023 and looks forward to more events on the court calendar.

“Pecan tennis is the place to be in 2023,” said Pecan tennis professional John Ingram III, and he proves correct with winter junior tennis being in full swing on Wednesday afternoons, aluminum can recycling going strong, and new hats and shirts available to order in the tennis shop.
