AVIVA Granbury celebrates renovations

Posted

AVIVA Granbury, an independent living center, assisted living center, and memory care center for seniors celebrated the completion of its renovations at a celebration that featured a ribbon cutting Dec. 7.

The celebration was attended by many members of the community who came to support the renovations as well as a special visit from AVIVA’s CEO and Chairman Chris Finlay. Entertainment was provided by 92.1 Hank FM and Granbury’s very own Mysterious Scoundrels.

The property was bought a year ago by Finlay and turned into AVIVA. Finlay knew renovations and updates were needed and the building underwent six months of renovations.

The renovations included new flooring, furniture and updates to the dining hall as well as technological updates. The technological updates include keyless entry to rooms and a new system to keep tabs on all residents to ensure safety through fall detection and GPS systems.

Executive Director Chris Ibarra said during the celebration the changes were necessary and vital for the residents.

“We are so thankful for all of the community support during these renovations and are so glad to make a safer and more comfortable living space here for our residents,” Ibarra said during the celebration.

There is a second AVIVA property located in Fort Worth, but Finlay noted the involvement of the community in Granbury is strong, and said the town is amazing.

“This could not have been possible without the wonderful team of people here,” Finlay said during the celebration. “These properties are all about people and we are so thankful for all of the people that work here and that made these renovations come to life.”

“What’s most important is that our seniors are safe and comfortable,” Finlay told the HCN. “With these technology updates, we are most likely the safest senior center locally.”

Finlay told the HCN he hopes to continue to grow and expand AVIVA all over and possibly even create more locations in Hood County.
