Bond set for suspect in Stinson murder case

Posted

Bond was set at $1 million Saturday for Richard Anthony Metten, who has been charged with the murder of 31-year-old Andrea Stinson.

Stinson’s body was found in a shed on Metten’s property in November 2020. She had been shot to death.

According to Sheriff Roger Deeds, Metten was her boyfriend and the two were living together at the time of her murder.

Deeds issued a statement on Friday, July 14, announcing that his office, along with the Texas Department of Public Safety-Ranger Division, had arrested Metten in the almost three-year-old case. Metten was already incarcerated for seven felonies that include trafficking and sex assault of a child.

Stinson was the mother of three children who are now in their teens.

In an email to the Hood County News, Deeds stated that investigators “worked tirelessly to bring a successful resolution to this case.”
