Bonny Arlington 1946 – 2025

Posted

On March 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, Bonny completed her life journey and passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord. Born June 6, 1946, Bonny was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her love of all of us taught us how to be a loving family. She will be missed so very much.

A family visitation is scheduled at Wiley Center at Wiley Funeral Home, 400 East Hwy. 377, Granbury, TX 76048 (817-573-3000) on Saturday March 22 from 10 a.m. to noon. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to your favorite charity in Bonny’s name.

In 1966 at the age of 20 she married her high school sweetheart, Gary Arlington. They spent the next 58 years together. Bonny and Gary have two adult children: Debbie and David and seven beautiful grandchildren.

Bonny graduated from Greece Olympia High School in Rochester, New York and studied nursing at Texas Woman’s University. She worked for a number of years as a magazine advertising manager but chose to spend the vast majority of her life as a full-time mom, homemaker and grandmother.

Before restrictions due to health, Bonny enjoyed a wide variety of outdoor activities including tennis and watersports. However, Bonny’s true passion was quilting. Throughout her adult life she made many beautiful quilts for both family members and friends. Each quilt, a work of art, took her countless hours of loving care. Her quilting room was her “happy place” that helped her to be distracted from the difficulties of her health issues.

Bonny is survived by her loving husband Gary Arlington, daughter Debbie Arlington and her children: Carly Moroney, Emma Langford, Elizabeth Langford and Lily Langford, son David Arlington and wife Aimee and their children: Brandon Arlington, Jake Arlington and Matthew Arlington, brother Dennis Maynard and wife Connie and a number of nieces and nephews.

Bonny is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Dorothy Maynard and oldest brother Jerry.

Our family would like to extend a very special thanks to the “Wings Over Texas” Hospice organization for their amazingly compassionate care in Bonny’s time of need.
