Bruce William Lockwood 1944 – 2025

Bruce W. Lockwood, 81, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2025, at his home in Pecan Plantation. He is survived by his wife, Linnae; daughters, Andrea and Lisa; brother, Dick; sisters, Barb and Margie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bruce was born in Pittsburgh, Penn., Jan. 26, 1944. He graduated from Bruges High School in El Paso, Texas, then continued his education at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, N.M., on a Naval ROTC scholarship. He also obtained an MBA and a Master's in Education from Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Va.

Bruce served as a naval flight officer for 25 years. Tours of duty included flying F-4 Phantoms off carriers in three deployments to Vietnam, flag secretary to Admiral Foley, and Weapons Office, USS Dwight D. Eisenhower. After retirement from the Navy, he taught fifth grade in Chesapeake, Va.. public schools and eighth- and ninth-grade pre-algebra and pre-AP algebra I at Granbury Middle School in Granbury ISD.

A memorial/celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 19, at

Granbury First United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Friends of Animals or Second Chance Farm.
