Darrell ‘Butch’ Lynn Morrison 1951 – 2026

Darrell L. Morrison, a long-time resident of Tolar passed away Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the age of 75. He was born March 17, 1951, in Granbury to Lillah Mae Deaver and James Young Morrison. He was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, James (Jimmy) and Gene.

Darrell is survived by his wife of 54 years, Debbie Hudson Morrison; and his daughter, Kelly Morrison Camacho, her husband Abe, and granddaughters Marina and Jenna Briley; and his son, Blaine Neil Morrison and his wife Mirian, all residents of Tolar.

He was the quarterback for six-man football for Tolar High School in 1968. He was a Vietnam War veteran and served his country in the Army from June 26, 1968, to Dec. 31, 1970, where he was stationed in Washington, Italy and Vietnam. He returned from service and got his bachelor’s degree from Tarleton State University. He worked in the tool room of the power plant and retired as the county auditor for Somervell County after 22 years of service. He was a member of Granbury Church of Christ. He loved numbers, the newspaper, sports and tales of Hood County. Darrell was a staunch Democrat.

Graveside service to celebrate Darrell’s life: Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Acton Cemetery under the direction and care of Wiley Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Granbury Church of Christ Food Pantry and Tarrant County Area Food Bank.
