David Glenn Gordon, 63, of Granbury, Texas, passed away peacefully March 18, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones in the comfort of his home. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
David was born on Feb. 28, 1962, in Odessa, Texas to Gloria and Travis Gordon. His family later moved to Sonora, Texas, where he graduated from Sonora High School in May of 1980. He began his career in the oil 21field two days later. By the time David was 21, he had promoted all the way to tool pusher, where he worked for Tom Brown Drilling/ TMBR-Sharp/ Patterson for the next 24 years. In 1989, David worked in Africa for Parker Drilling for a short stent. In 2004, he began consulting with Oxy and then moved to EOG, where he retired in 2024. He was a respected member of his profession, where he became a mentor to many, and loved his job and work family throughout the years.
David met the love of his life, Jacque Justice Dec. 10, 1994, where they raised their blended family in Midland, Texas and were married for 27 beautiful years. There were good, bad, and ugly times, but love prevailed, and they grew a beautiful family. They raised five tremendous children and were blessed with the best in laws. David was most proud of his eighteen grandchildren including bonus grandchildren that he loved all the same. In 2007, they moved to Granbury, Texas where they continued to spend time fishing, hunting, and hanging out on the boat with all their grandchildren. At the same time, meeting incredible friends along the way.
David is survived by his loving wife Jacque; daughters Andrea (Josh) Madrid, their children Tyler, Lauren, Crystal, and Cole of Midland, Texas, Kendra (Frank) Barnes, their children Ryland, Hunter, Waylon, Maddux, and Jaxson of Fort Worth, Kirsten Gordon (Kurtis Miller), their children Landen, Logan, and Kinzie of Burleson, Texas. Sons Matthew (Kathryn) Gordon, their children Wyatt, Colton, Wesson, and Olive of Fort Worth, and Austin Clayton, his children Kolbey and Noah of Fort Scott, Kansas. One brother John Gordon; one sister-in law Jeri Davis; two aunts Donna (Larry) Franke; Linda Haragan; one uncle Kenneth (Linda) Pope; several nieces, nephews, and cousins which he loved so much.
David is preceded in death by his parents Travis and Gloria Gordon, and both sets of grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like for donations to go towards Hood County Christmas for Children, United Way of Hood County and Leadership Granbury.
