We’ve reached the end of the month. I pray the Lord is revealing Himself to you in this New Year. We’ve spent the last month exploring tools to improve your relationship with Him and pursue “newness” in the New Year. We’ve talked about plugging into a community and pursuing Christ with others at your side. We’ve also explored the importance of having an active and continuous prayer life and how it helps you prioritize what’s important. Now, where do we start? How do we apply all of this? It’s a great question.

I think living into “newness” looks different for everyone. Maybe it’s reading more. Maybe it’s journaling, or serving more in your church. However, before any of that, you have to start with JESUS. Right now, in the quiet of you heart, ask yourself this question: “Do I KNOW Jesus?”

Be honest with yourself. Have you ever made the decision to give your life to the Lord, trading your priorities for His and living in the fullness of a REAL relationship with Him? Have you ever asked Him to come into your heart and begin making you new? If the answer is “yes,” commit to following him more passionately than ever before in 2019, leaving yourself open to respond to His call on your life WHATEVER it may be. However, if the answer is “NO,” understand that the God of the universe is waiting for you with open arms. John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world that He gave is one and only son, that whoever believes in Him shall on perish by have eternal life.” If you have never made the decision follow Jesus, know He loves you, died for you, and wants a relationship with you. All you have to do is invite Him in. Not sure how to do that? Find a pastor or someone you trust and ask them. Believe me, they will be overjoyed to walk alongside you in this journey!

Wherever you fi nd yourself today, I hope a hunger has been placed deep inside of you in this new year. We have to trust that God is who He says He is, and that He won’t lead us down the wrong path. Sometimes, I think we’re scared of the unknown because we don’t know where the end game is. But in Christ, we know who it’s about. It’s about His glory, and His story, and how we get to be a part of it. Invite others to join you on this journey, and let me know how it goes for you. I’ll be praying for you!
