Election filing period closes as 65-plus Hood County candidates prepare for 2024 primaries

After a month-long filing period, the window to file for the 2024 March primaries has officially closed, as more than 65 Hood County residents applied for candidacy in next year’s election.  

Although some candidates had issues getting an appointment to file their paperwork with the Hood County Republican Party during the beginning of the filing period, they were eventually able to successfully file for candidacy.

A total of 71 Hood County residents filed for a specific position in the county and are listed below, separated by party. This information was taken directly from the Secretary of State website.
