A 36-year-old Granbury man was arrested by Granbury Police on June 1 and booked into the Hood County Jail on a second-degree felony charge after being accused of choking his girlfriend, according to GPD Lt. Russell Grizzard.

GPD officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of West Pearl Street after receiving a call reporting a disturbance and assault, Grizzard noted. Jermie Wayne Taylor was accused of an assault by choking in the incident, Grizzard stated in an email.

“A 40-year-old Granbury woman reported that her boyfriend had assaulted her by choking her,” Grizzard’s report states. “There was visible evidence which corroborated her claim, and 36-year-old Jermie Wayne Taylor of Granbury was arrested for assault family member — choking, a third-degree felony. The victim suffered minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital.”
