Granbury gets the win with a final score: Granbury 29 to Cleburne 26

The pirates first possession started with a 47 yard punt return by #11 Halston Main. Caden crouch was the starting quarterback and after two 5 yard penalties they settled for a field goal by Drew Peterson putting the pirates on the scoreboard first. The first quarter ended with a score of Granbury 3 Cleburne 0.

Early in the 2nd quarter, Cleburne yellowjackets had a high snap and the ball went over their quarterback's head and through the back of the end zone resulting in a 2 point safety. Making the score Granbury 5 to Cleburne 0 

Cleburne made the most of an interception by going for it on a 4 and 12 resulting in a 36 yard touchdown. With less than 4:44 left in the second quarter the Pirates found themselves behind 7 to 5. Granbury couldn't convert on 3rd down forcing a punt at 2:40 to go. Cleburne got the ball back and after 2 long passes and a 15 yard penalty against Granbury that gave way to a quarterback sneak and another 6 points. The extra point was missed and Granbury got the ball back with 23 seconds on the clock but couldn't add anymore points to the board, ending the second quarter with a score of Cleburne 13 Granbury 5.

To start the 3rd quarter # 27 Jadon Rogers kept it on the ground and marched the pirates down the field with one of his longest runs of the night of 18 yards. Jeff Lenard had a 10 yard catch putting them in the red zone. With the ball on the 5 yard line Jadon Rogers walked it in for a touchdown. James Byrd made a dive into the end zone for a 2 point conversion tying it up at 13 to 13.

Cleburne got the ball on the 25 yard line and the pirates got burned by a huge play, a 25 yard pass to a wide open receiver that picked up 50 more yards after the catch. Putting the yellowjackets inside the 10 yard line and two plays later punched through the defense line for a touchdown and made the extra point, making it Cleburne 20 to Granbury 13 at the end of the 3rd quarter.

Granbury # 85 Carter Riley tied it up early in the 4th quarter with his first touchdown catch of the season with 11:20 left in the game. Within less than a minute the pirates got the ball back with an interception by Hunter Burns giving them excellent field position. Keeping it on the ground again, a hand off to Jadon Rogers, the pirates capitalize on the interception by Burns. The Yellowjackets came back with a over the middle, long pass, to a wide open receiver picking more than 50 yards after the catch for a touchdown.

Yet, Cleburne couldn't tie it up due to a missed extra point kick with 9:32 on the clock. After a deep punt and an excellent special play, the Pirates downed the ball at the 5 yard line.  4 downs later and for the second time tonight on a 4 and long, a high snap went over the kickers head and through the end zone resulting in a safety. Putting the pirates in the lead by 3 points with a score of 29 to 26. The Pirates defense was able to keep Cleburne form scoring again and the offense was able to pick up a few first downs to run out the clock, making the final score Granbury 29 to Cleburne 26
