On Friday afternoon (April 7), the Hood County News received information stemming from an information request about a report of the body of a 53-year-old deceased local resident found on April 5 at the de Cordova Bend Boat Ramp.
HCSO Lt. Josh Lane stated in an email that the call requesting deputies to respond to the deCordova Bend Boat Ramp at 4320 DCBE Marina Court to investigate was received at about 7:24 a.m. on April 5.
“Deputies arrived on scene to find the male was deceased from what appeared to possibly be from self-inflicted injury,” Lane stated in the email.
Lane also responded to a question from the HCN about one unofficial report on social media — which suggested the death may have been as a result of drowning — by stating that “is incorrect.”
Lane added that “until the investigation is completed it is treated as a criminal investigation and no other information is available at this time.”
