Hood County is gearing up for its 69th annual Junior Livestock Show that will take place Jan. 9 through the 13, put on by the Hood County Junior Livestock Raisers Association. The free five-day event at the Reunion Grounds gives students from around the county the chance to show off their skills from working directly with animals to all kinds of knowledge of livestock identification and much more.
The last show in 2023 had a total of 909 show entries and a record-breaking amount of funds raised in the premium auction sale with over $500,000 generated. The Grand Champion steer led by Caiman Cody sold for $17,000 dollars. The HCJLRA is looking forward to another successful show.
