James Kuhns Sutton, age 72, passed away Dec. 21, 2024, at home in the arms of his loving family.
Jim’s family requests that memorial donations be made in his name to the Hood County Old Jail Museum.
Born in Ponca City, Oklahoma Jan. 1, 1952, James was a wonderful husband and father, as well as an active and valued member of the community. He devoted many years of volunteer service to the Hood County Museum and the Granbury Depot. A graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a master’s degree in physics, Jim was also a private pilot and enjoyed many years flying his 1951 Cessna 170. James retired from Lockheed Martin in 2011 after more than 32 years employment as an engineer in the “Skunk Works,” where he helped with the F22 and F35 programs.
James is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Sutton; daughters Elizabeth and Andrea Sutton; and sister Sally Sutton of Finley, Oklahoma.
