John Allen Rogers, 82, of Granbury, Texas, and a longtime resident of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday, June 10, 2026. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
A private memorial service will be held for the family.
John was born May 12, 1944, in Hannibal, Missouri, to the late Russell and Mary Frances Rogers. On June 16, 1963, he married the love of his life, Margaret Markison. Together, they built a loving family and raised two sons, James and Jeffery.
John proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 22 years. During his military career, he was stationed at assignments around the world, serving primarily as a radar technician.
John enjoyed many outdoor activities, including fishing, boating and camping. He was also an avid model railroader and talented woodworker. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and the memories they created together.
John is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years, Margaret; his sons, James Rogers and wife Candace, and Jeffery Rogers and wife Nannett; his grandchildren, Jacob, Helen, Jordan, Jared and fiancée Jennilee Pirtle, Courtney, and Cassidy; and his four great-grandchildren, Athena Rogers, Penelope Rogers, Lyla Rogers, and John Luke Martinez.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Russell Rogers.
