Lometa Gene Kennon, age 89, a lifelong resident of Hood County, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at a care center in Granbury, Texas. She was born March 19, 1936, in Granbury to Doyle and Gladys Endsley. She was a 1954 graduate of Granbury High School and married Don Milton Kennon June 5, 1954.
During their 70-plus years of marriage, she held several jobs and retired from working as a secretary to the Granbury ISD superintendent. With a great sense of humor and a laugh that was contagious, she was quick to make friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Doyle Milton “Kenny” Kennon. She is survived by her husband, Don Milton Kennon; her sisters, Ann Barron and husband, Jackie, of San Antonio, and Wanda Evans and husband, Jack, of Granbury; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Wiley's Funeral Home in Granbury, Texas, at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
