Marolyn Cleere Pollard 1934 – 2026

Posted

Marolyn Cleere Pollard, 91, passed away on Monday, Jan. 5, 2026, in Cleburne, Texas.

Marolyn was born Aug. 28, 1934, in Alvarado, Texas, to William Parmer Cleere and Alta Frances Nunn. She married Richard Dean Pollard Dec. 20, 1953, in Alvarado. Marolyn worked for many years as an attendance clerk for Everman ISD. At work and at home, she was funny, witty, kind, and full of life. She could often be seen and heard at her grandkids' sporting (and sometimes even theatre) events, cheering louder than anyone there. When she wasn’t supporting her grandkids in person, her time was still spent on them: writing letters, mailing coupons, and leaving voicemails full of songs, riddles, jokes, crazy stories, and love. She was a very special lady to everyone who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Harris Cleere; husband, Richard Pollard; and daughter, Mary Jane Bowden.

Marolyn is survived by her sister, Carolyn Sledge; sister-in-law, Imogene Bourgeois; daughter, Libby Davis and husband Lan; son-in-law, Bobby Bowden and wife Tammye; two granddaughters, Caitlan Leblo and her husband Josh, and Baylee Davis and her wife Brooke Yrigoyen; two grandsons, Bo Bowden and his wife Caitlin, and Coleman Bowden; and great-grandchildren, Aria and Elijah Leblo, and Charlie Bautista.

A visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury, Texas.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026, at Granbury First United Methodist Church.

Flowers may be sent to Wiley Funeral Home, or memorial donations can be made in memory of Marolyn to the Susan G. Komen Foundation at komen.org/donate.
