Pam was born March 24, 1945, in Gorman to the late William and Joy Kay. She met the love of her life, Don Steen, in the seventh grade, and they married June 5, 1965, building a life together filled with love, faith and family. They were blessed with two children, Jennifer and David.
A graduate of Texas Tech University and the University of Texas at Tyler, Pam had a 25-year career in public education as a teacher and administrator. She was an assistant principal at John Tyler High School in Tyler, Fultondale High School in Birmingham, Alabama and retired as assistant principal at Spain Park High School in Hoover, Alabama.
Pam’s faith and relationship with Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of her life. A member of Acton Methodist Church, she remained actively involved in various church communities throughout the years. Pam would tell you her hobby was shopping, but her greatest happiness came from time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless pride and love.
Pam will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her boundless love for her family, and the legacy of kindness and strength she leaves behind.
In addition to her parents, Pam was preceded in death by her sister, Sheran Benton-Casey.
Pam is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Don; her children, Jennifer Kay and husband Joey Hall and David and wife Judy Steen; grandchildren, Tyler and wife Taylor Hall, McKenna Hall and fiancée Patrick O’Brien, Dr. Corey Steen and fiancée Morgan Gill, and Brooke and husband Karsen Hayes; and by her great-grandchildren, Emma Kay Hall and William James Hall.
