Paul Douglas (Doug) Cron was born August 14, 1940, and died June 7, 2026. He is survived by his wife, Karen, and their daughters Janis Cron, Becky (Dean) Jones, and Wendy Delzell. He also had six grandchildren, Joseph (Morgan) Bennett, William Bennett, Abby (Scott) Stuckle, David Delzell, Andrew Jones, and Madison Bennett, and four great-grandchildren, Ollie and Sonny Bennett and Ellie and Bennett Stuckle. He is also survived by his brother Tony Cron, his sisters Julie Edwards and Penny (Bobby) Steel, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Iris Cron, two sisters, Laurel Cron and Fay Harcrow, his two youngest children, Sharon Bennett and Andy Cron, and great-grandson Leo Bennett.

Doug graduated from high school in Pharr, Texas, and from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, where he met and married Karen. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, they moved to Alamo, Texas. Doug worked as a CPA in McAllen, retired as a partner in his firm in 2000, and then he and Karen moved to Granbury, Texas.

Doug was a devout Christian, serving God wherever he lived. Doug and Karen raised five children and delighted in their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Doug’s service will be at Acton Baptist Church in Acton, Texas, Saturday, June 20 at 1 p.m. Karen and their daughters will be available for visitation about 12:15 p.m.
