Paula Kay Schirman, 74, beloved and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, March 4, 2026, in her Granbury Home.
A Celebration of Life service for Paula will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the Wiley Funeral Center,420 Highway 377 East, in Granbury. Burial will be private.
Paula was born on Halloween, 1951, in Sweetwater, Texas, to the late Marion and Jo Byler. She married Thomas Carl Schirman July 7, 1990. Paula was a member of Anchor Fellowship Church in Acton, Texas. A licensed certified counselor, Paula was particularly passionate about helping Veterans. Before receiving her master’s degree in human resources, Paula worked at Bell Helicopter. She was active in serving in the Veterans’ Freedom Retreat and the National Veterans’ Wellness and Healing Center. She was always focused and determined with everything she did. Most of all, Paula was deeply devoted to her beloved family – particularly her grandchildren.
Paula is survived by her husband, Tom; her children, Joe Don (Susan Diciccio) Slawson, Justin (Patty) Slawson, and Jason Slawson; grandchildren, Sophie, Etta, Jeremy, Charlee and Presley; and by her step-daughter, Bonita (Larry) Burleson.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents.
