The Winter-Guest Tourism Season in Granbury kicked off Saturday with the Goosebump Jump! The day began at Hewlett Park with the Mammoth Ice Age 5K, 10K, and Half-Marathon. Across the street at the City Beach friendly competition continued with a chili cook-off followed by a snowball fight and costume contest. Then came the great plunge into frigid Lake Granbury. The event is sponsored by the Granbury Area Lodging Association, Visit Granbury – City of Granbury, KHITS 95.5, JR Spas, Texas EMS, and Hood County News. Funds raised from the $10 registration fee along with the $1,000 prize generously provided by the lodging association were awarded to the Lake Granbury Kiwanis Club, the 501C3 organization that signed up the largest number of participants.
