Raymond Boyce Crust, a loyal and dedicated soul, left us on July 16, 2026, just shy of celebrating his 100th birthday. Born April 13, 1927, in Stanley, Kansas, to Joseph and Dorothy Crust, Raymond was a man of many talents whose life was a testament to his love for adventure, family, and work. He spent his early years at General Motors, leading the team as a shift superintendent, where he still, to this day, has a car lot named after him. He was known as one of the first to install air conditioning in automobiles in Texas, a testament to his dedication and hard work. His love for automobiles didn't just end at work; Raymond was also an active member of the Granbury Vintage Car Club. His hobbies ranged from boating to traveling, and he was proud to have visited 48 of the 50 states. He enjoyed playing cards and dominoes; Raymond also had an intriguing penchant for coin collecting. A dedicated member of the Cowboy Church, he was as spirited in faith as he was in life.
Despite his varied interests, what mattered most to Raymond was his family. He was a loving husband to his late wife, Arnita Crust, and a devoted father to his surviving daughters, Debbie Cantrell and husband Gene, Donna Ives and husband Roger. He also leaves behind grandchildren, Chris Cantrell and wife Winn, Scott Cantrell and wife Laura, Stephen Crust, David Crust and wife Caralyn, Randy Crust and wife Monica and Aletha Mathis and husband Zach; 17 great-grandchildren; brother Paul Crust and sister Evelyn Millard and husband Tim. Raymond's memory will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his wife Arnita (Cox) Crust, son Dwight Crust, and sister JoAnn Rising.
Visitation for Raymond will be held Saturday, July 25, 2026, at noon, at the Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury, Texas. A service celebrating his life will follow at 1 p.m., with burial following the service at Rough Creek Cemetery.
