Road trip! Chamber plans visit to Capitol during 88th Legislature

Posted

There’s still time to catch the bus for the Granbury Chamber of Commerce’s “Hood County Day at the Capitol” excursion, but only a few seats remain.

The field trip to Austin will take place on Thursday, Feb. 2.

With the chamber chartering a bus, the visit to the Capitol while the 88th Legislature is in session offers an opportunity to spend the day with friends and make new ones while meeting with lawmakers and seeing state government in action.

The Legislature convened on Jan. 10 and will be in session through May 29. Top issues for lawmakers include the power grid and property tax reform.

Early Bird tickets are available for $85 through Friday, Jan. 20. After that, tickets are $100. The price includes the bus ride and lunch.

The bus will depart the city parking lot across from the Langdon Center on East Pearl Street at 6 a.m. and will return at 7 p.m.

Registration can be done online through the Event Calendar at granburychamber.com.

Those with questions can call the chamber at 817-573-1622.
