Ronald Ellis Deeds, lovingly known as Ron, passed away Aug. 28, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas. Born June 28, 1938, in Lincoln, Nebraska, Ronald spent his younger years growing into the man so many others would come to respect and adore. He married the love of his life, Bernice, Dec. 29, 1957, and the two shared an incredible 69 years of love and partnership.

Ronald was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. Ron spent 26 years in management at Montgomery Wards before retiring. During that time, he was sent to Denver, Albuquerque, Kansas City, Lincoln, and Dallas. After leaving Montgomery Wards, Ron delivered and repaired appliances for the Sears store in Granbury, Texas, where he resided. His family always said he was in most of the women's houses in Hood County. He adored spending his free time repairing antique cars, including an Edsel, a 1965 Thunderbird, a Corvette and an old Cadillac. He also put his talents to good use as a builder, constructing 10 houses in Indian Harbor and repairing many other homes.

Family mattered most to Ronald. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Bernice Deeds, his son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Shawn Deeds, and his daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Julius Eccell. Ronald was also a loving grandfather to Sarah Riley (Schaef), Emily Siller (Dave), and Megan Perry (Matthew). He was also blessed with five great-grandchildren: Carter Riley, Levi and Maddox Siller, and Elaina and Caleb Perry.

Ronald is preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Geneva Deeds.

A memorial service for Ronald will be held Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the Wiley Center, located at 420 E Hwy 377, Granbury, Texas, 76048.

The family has requested memorial donations to be made in Ron's memory to the Hood County Senior Center.
