Susan Florence Nagel 1945 – 2025

On Dec. 18, 2025, Susan Florence Nagel was embraced by the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Susan was born June 6, 1945, at Camp Blanding, Florida, and grew up in New Franklin, Missouri. In November of 1964, Susan met the love of her life, Orin Arthur Nagel, and they were married at First Baptist Church of Booneville, Missouri, July 30, 1965. They have been blessed with over 60 years of marriage. Susan is the mother of four children: Michael, Scott, Sean and Sarah; grandmother to nine grandchildren and great-grandmother to three great-grandchildren. Susan was a generous, compassionate, loving and nurturing wife and mother.

Susan was a U.S. Army wife who volunteered countless hours in the service of soldiers and their wives for 30 years.  She is a graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts. Susan was an accomplished artist. She loved antiques, crafting, cooking, interior design and making jewelry, donating handmade jewelry to women in Zimbabwe. Susan loved to travel all over the world, even living in Italy for three years, England for two years and Pakistan for two years. In addition to her other achievements, Susan was a successful entrepreneur who owned and operated two small businesses, Red Door Antiques and Perfect Accents.

Susan is now reunited with her son, Michael, in the presence of Jesus Christ. Her humble and altruistic legacy will be carried on by her family for generations to come.

Celebration of Life service will be held Monday, Dec. 29, 2025, at Lakeside Baptist Church, Granbury, Texas, beginning at 11 a.m.
