A 28-year-old Saginaw man is in custody in the Tarrant County Jail, charged with a first-degree felony count of aggravated robbery in connection with a Sept. 8 incident behind CVS Pharmacy in Granbury, according to a Granbury Police Department spokesman.

GPD officers were dispatched shortly after 8 p.m. that evening to CVS on an armed robbery call.

GPD Lt. Russell Grizzard told the Hood County News via email that, “The victim reported that she was behind the store feeding stray cats when a man approached her pointing a handgun at her. The victim ran to another car and the suspect got into her car fled the scene in it.”

Grizzard explained that the people in the other car were strangers to the woman. The lieutenant noted that the suspect — who was later identified as Aaron Jordan Martinez of Saginaw — did not take cash directly from the victim, but her purse was in the car taken by the man.

“The suspect was later involved in a pursuit with the Benbrook Police Department in the stolen vehicle and he ultimately stopped and was arrested for Evading Arrest,” Grizzard stated.

Grizzard also noted, “Martinez had also been involved in another incident in the area of the robbery shortly before the robbery. An arrest warrant was obtained for Aggravated Robbery, a First-Degree Felony, and the warrant was served at the Tarrant County Jail."
