DRINK UP: Guests attending the Taste of Granbury on Oct. 20, can choose to sample tastings from eight different local businesses, including Sledge Distillery.

The Taste of Granbury Whiskey & Wine event is returning for its third year on Thursday, Oct. 20, from 5-8 p.m.
But this year, the popular event will be held at a new location — La Bella Luna, 7700 Glen Rose Highway.
“La Bella Luna, it will be our first time having it there,” said Cathy Weeks, Taste of Granbury co-chair alongside Michelle Davis. “I'm excited because we can have everybody inside since we had a little bit of a weather issue last year.”
This year, the event will feature samplings from 11 local restaurants, a brewery, three wineries and four distilleries.
Restaurants participating in the event include: Crave Bakery, The Local Cafe, Randy’s Shrimp & Oyster Bar, Randy’s Bar & Grill, Mesquite Pit, Hoffbrau Steak & Grill House, Del Norte Tacos, Brock’s Food & Drink, Bob’s Off the Square, Board & Cork and Restaurant Anise.
As for adult beverages, guests can choose to sample drinks from eight different local businesses: Brew Aleworks, Silver Spur Winery, D’Vine Wine, Barons Creek Vineyard, Silver Star Spirits, Dripping Springs Distilling, Blackland Distillery and Acre Distilling.
“Additionally, we have some great live and silent auction items,” Weeks said. “Some of the live auction items will pique people's interest.”
The live auction includes sought-after items like two seats in the Ben E. Keith suite for the Dallas Cowboys/Colts game on Dec. 4, the use of a personal chef, a weekend getaway to Ruidoso, New Mexico, and a guided fishing trip.
"We also have a DJ who will be providing music throughout the evening,” Weeks said. “Just great food, great drinks and a great atmosphere.”
The event will support the Wednesday Women’s Club of Granbury, where proceeds will go toward the Lois G. Cleveland Memorial Scholarship Fund to benefit female graduates of Hood County.
"For me, it’s always personal because I was also a first-generation college student who relied on scholarships, so the Taste of Granbury is about supporting the educational goals of the young women of Hood County,” Weeks said. “We were able to award $50,000 last year to 18 different recipients. It’s exciting that the number of applications continues to grow.”
The title underwriter for the event is Collinsworth Thoroughbred Racing, LLC out of Bluff Dale, while the master underwriter is Kroger.
Additional sponsors for the Taste of Granbury include First Financial Bank, First National Bank, H-E-B, Hood County News and Empire Realty Group.

Tables of eight are available for $1,200, and single tickets are $150 each.
Weeks added, “I am looking forward to members of our community coming out in support of this very worthy cause.”
