Thomas Henry Harris 1930-2025

Posted

It is with genuine sadness, and yet profound joy, we want to announce to the Granbury community the death of Thomas Henry Harris, 94. Born in 1930 to British parents, Tom's journey began with his immigration to the United States through Ellis Island, settling in Santa Cruz, California, in the late 1930s. During his life, he forged a distinguished career as a United Airlines pilot. But his passion for aviation extended beyond his profession to encompass a deep love of flight and the Granbury skies. He was a familiar and respected figure among local aviators and will be deeply missed.

Tom made an impact on all whom he met. He was a man of unwavering Christian faith, a loyal friend, and a dedicated advocate for the pro-life movement. His genuine kindness, warm spirit, and sense of humor touched the lives of everyone he encountered. Following the death of Carol, his beloved wife of 64 years, Tom focused on a simple love for his family. He is survived by five children, 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A celebration of God’s grace in life will be held May 24, 5 p.m. at the Nassua Court Airstrip—a location particularly meaningful as his favorite runway. All are welcome to join in commemorating his life and the goodness of God!
