With hopes that grant funds could connect the growing town through sidewalks and a shared pathways project, Tolar city officials have scheduled a Town Hall meeting to provide information to the public and to seek citizen input.
The Town Hall meeting will take place from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, at the J.D. Neely Community Center, 120 Tolar Cemetery Road.
Refreshments will be provided.
The city has applied for a grant through the Texas Department of Transportation’s Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside Program, which provides funding for bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure projects.
The money is available through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, also known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill.
If Tolar is approved through the program, sidewalks could be constructed along the U.S. Highway 377 corridor and shared pathways could connect schools to the downtown area.
