It’s your chance to enjoy local art and visit with the artists. The annual Pecan Plantation Art Guild Gallery Night is coming up Friday.

“Many of our Pecan artists are award-winning and are known nationally for their high quality work,” said Art Guild spokeswoman Marty Rains.

The Pecan Art Guild has six homes lined up to host the galleries.

Various artists will be featured at each gallery/home.

“Art lovers will also be able to purchase a great piece of art at an affordable price,” Rains noted.

Each gallery/home will have its own theme, and art demonstrations will be offered. Those attending can talk with the artists and learn how they are inspired.

You could be inspired to start a little Christmas shopping.

In addition to artwork at each gallery/home, guests will be treated to hors d’oeuvres and beverages at each location.

More than 2,000 visitors have participated in the Gallery Night tour over the past seven years.

Gallery Night runs from 4-8 p.m. Friday. Those touring the galleries must pick up maps and beverage tickets at the Pecan Plantation Clubhouse before going to the galleries.

Gallery Night is a free event, though donations will be accepted.

“It is our gift to the community, and we invite visitors from all over,” said Pecan Plantation artist Cheryl Moore.

Non-residents can tell the guard at the front or back gate that they are attending Gallery Night and they will be admitted.

It is recommended that Pecan visitors consider driving their golf carts or sharing rides to help reduce parking needs.
