The date for the Veterans Day program was inadvertently left off the Hood County News calendar listing. The Veterans Day program in Granbury will be Friday morning, Nov. 11. Retired Lt. Col. Jim Marshall is the guest speaker. The program is from 9:15 – 10:30 a.m. in Granbury High School Auditorium, 2000 W. Pearl St.
A choir concert is part of the program. There will be a flag and wreath ceremony, along with special seating for veterans. The essay winner will be announced and there will be a gift presentation by Military Officers Association of America.
A program at Jim Burks Firefighters Memorial Park/Memorial Lane, 561 N. Travis St. is planned from 11-11:30 a.m. The scheduled speakers are Pastor Bill Sanders and Nin Hulett. A prayer box, flag ceremony and special gifts for all veterans are part of the program. There will be limited parking at the site and extra parking next door.
