William ‘Daygo’ Gentry 1946 — 2025

William “Daygo” Gentry, 78, passed away Feb. 8, 2025, at his home in Granbury. A graveside service will be Monday, Feb. 17 at 1:30 p.m. at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery located at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas, 75211.

Daygo was born Dec. 14, 1946, in Clarksdale, Mississippi to John Henry Gentry and Dora Ardessa Neely Gentry. He was a man of many passions and a heart full of love. Daygo had a deep affection for black and white westerns and a keen interest in cars. His greatest joys were his beloved wife, his grandbabies and great-grandbabies, whom he cherished dearly. Daygo's faith was a cornerstone of his life; he loved God and dedicated much of his time to helping churches and supporting missionaries. He found satisfaction in hauling scrap metal and was known for his generosity and willingness to lend a hand wherever needed. Daygo enjoyed eating out and was a natural storyteller, always ready to share a tale with a warm smile.

His generosity and love for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Daygo Gentry leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faith and devotion to family and community.

Daygo is preceded in death by his parents and nine siblings.

Daygo is survived by his wife: Vickie Gentry; children: Sean Gentry, Randal Gentry and wife Patty, Steven Gentry and wife Rhonda, Chris Gentry and wife Paige and Charlotte Richards and husband Mark; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother: Bobby Joe Gentry; numerous extended family and friends.
