A 75-year-old woman died as a result of a fire that was called in to 911 early Sunday morning that destroyed her residence north of Lipan, according to Hood County Fire Marshal Jeff Young.

Young told the HCN on Tuesday that the woman who died in the fire, Sandra Pyle, was the only occupant of the home. A dog and a cat are still missing, he noted.

The cause of the fire, which was called in to emergency dispatch at 1:30 a.m. Sunday, has not been determined and the investigation is ongoing, Young noted.

The home was located west of Falls Road in far north Hood County, not far from the Parker County line, Young said.
