World War II hero motorcade to final resting place

On February 28, 1944, a B-17 piloted by 1st Lt. Noel Shoup was shot down over France. 1st Lt. Noel Shoup was declared missing in action. On Friday, Sept. 8, 1st Lt. Shoup’s remains will travel to the final resting place.

The plane arrives at Dallas-Fort Worth airport at 6 p.m. There will be a military procedure to respectfully exit the airplane. The hearse will leave after approximately 30 minutes where 1st Lt. Shoup will be receiving a full escort down 377 to his final resting place in Dublin.

There will be a group meeting in the Walmart parking lot in Benbrook at around 7:15 p.m. Residents may join the processional at any place along the route. Residents may also show their respect along 377 as the motorcade passes. Flags, and red, white, and blue glowsticks are encouraged.
