Six Granbury residents were displaced from their home on Kinson Street by a fire that was called in at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16, according to Jeff Newpher, communications manager with the city of Granbury.

No injuries were reported, but the fire damaged caused the home to be a total loss, according to Newpher. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Among those displaced by the fire were four children, according to Dusty Scovel, executive director of Mission Granbury, which is among the organizations assisting the family, along with the Salvation Army providing them with gift cards, food and clothing.

The household consists of a mother, father, two daughters (ages 18 and 19), and two sons (ages 10 and 11), according to Scovel.

Scovel said that a fund has been set up at First National Bank of Granbury (under the name “The Arreola Family Benefit Account”) for anyone who wants to contribute monetary donations to help the family. Donations can be made at any of the First National Bank branch offices, Scovel noted.
