Posted

Shortly before 2 p.m. Thursday (Dec. 2), Granbury ISD officials posted this message on its Facebook page:

“Law enforcement has apprehended a student involved in the anonymous posting via Yik Yak this morning, and this student admitted that the post was not legitimate. This matter has been turned over to law enforcement authorities, and we will pursue prosecution of any individual involved in these posts.

“We know there is a lot of concern about this Yik Yak post regarding a possible gun on campus here at GHS. At no point did we believe this to be a credible threat, but out of an abundance of caution, we still investigate and employ all available security and law enforcement.

“We are thankful for the assistance of Granbury Police Department, Hood County Sheriff’s Office, and Hood County Crime Stoppers to identify the source of these posts. Yik Yak also cooperated with law enforcement, and the investigation continues.

Our GISD Safety & Security team working regularly with local law enforcement We take safety and security of our students and staff very seriously, and we will take strong measures to protect everyone on our campuses.”
