A 79-year-old Granbury woman, Ruthanne Catherine Daley, died on the night of Dec. 23 after the vehicle she had been driving was involved in a two-vehicle traffic accident at the intersection of Acton Highway and FM 4 South.

According to Granbury Police Department Deputy Chief of Police Cliff Andrews, Daley was driving a 2014 Ford Escape and attempted to turn left on FM 4 South from Acton Highway at about 4:30 p.m. that day.

As it was making the turn, her vehicle was struck by a 2018 Tesla Model 3 sedan, driven by an 89-year-old Granbury resident.

The news release from Andrews also stated, “Ms. Daley refused medical treatment at the scene. While questioning Ms. Daley, officers of GPD noticed she was not responding to questions in the appropriate manner. Officers requested that emergency medical services respond to the scene despite the refusal of treatment. Ms. Daley was transported to Lake Granbury Medical Center. The Granbury Police Department was later notified that Ms. Daley was passed away at Lake Granbury Medical Center on December 23, 2021 at 11:15 p.m. Mr. Bradel was transported to Lake Granbury Medical Center for treatment.”

Andrews concluded by stating, “No charges will be filed as a result of this accident.”
