GHS baseball falls to Azle; playoff series set vs. Grapevine

The Granbury High School baseball squad dropped its regular-season finale Tuesday night, 2-0 to Azle, in a weather-delayed game played in Weatherford, which means that the Pirates will be the fourth seed coming out of District 5-5A in the playoffs. Coach Brad Eppler's Pirates (5-5 in district, 21-8 overall) will take on Grapevine in the bi-district round of the playoffs in a best-of-three series. Game 1 is set for 7 p.m. Thursday, at Tidwell Field at GHS. Game 2 is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday, at Grapevine High School. If a third game is necessary, it is slated for 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Tidwell Field.
