Granbury Boys Cross Country 2021

REGIONAL MEET BOUND: The Granbury High School boys cross country team is headed to the regional meet after a 3rd place finish at the District 5-5A meet. 

A third-place finish at the District 5-5A cross country meet Friday in White Settlement has qualified the Granbury boys team for the regional meet on October 25 in Lubbock.

Senior Ashton Lemens led the GHS squad with a finish of 18:52.82 to earn 10th individually. Also running were Alan Davila, Aiden Lemens, Carter McKay, Aidan Turpin, Collin Valentine, and Alec Wilkinson.

In the girls' race, Emery Kirby, a sophomore, placed eleventh individually with a time of 23:54.30. Other varsity girls taking part were Josefina Berry, Karolina Berry, Vanity Lopez, Alexie Patrick, Ezra Sedwick, and Zaeda Sedgwick.

The GHS junior varsity boys came away with a third-place finish, too. The JV boys team includes Michael Aranda, Connor Boegler, Bodie Chastain, Rylan Fleming, Brendan Gray, Dylan Hallmark, Trent Huggins, Pete O'Carroll, Mathew Wilson and Jacob Wolfe.

JV girls running included Laura Burch (8th), Allison Dutrow, and Anna Snow

The district contest also included Aledo, Azle, Brewer, Wichita Falls, and Wichita Falls Rider runners.

The Region I-5A meet will be Monday, October 25, at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock.
