Granbury airport gauge measures 1.6 inches of rain Monday

The much-needed rainfall that soaked its way through North Texas on Monday brought a total of 1.6 inches to Granbury, as measured at the Granbury Regional Airport.

That’s according to the airport’s Director of Aviation Pat Stewart. Stiff winds also dominated the day, with the top speed registered at the airport reaching 45 mph.

Stewart said he had heard that DFW Airport had received 21/4 inches of rain Monday, and there were reports of slightly more in a few North Texas spots.

The Fort Worth Bureau of the National Weather Service is predicting that rain showers are likely (60 percent chance) for this Thursday night (Oct. 27) in the Granbury area. On Friday there is a 60 percent chance of showers early, dropping to 30 percent later that day — becoming partly cloudy late that night.
