Hood County Flyers headed to state track and field meet

The Hood Flyers track and field team has eight of its 12 qualifiers for the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (TAAF) state track and field meet in Corpus Christi July 29-Aug 1.

“We are headed down and hoping for a great meet this year,” coach Crystal Burnenheide said.

Burnenheide and her husband, Richard, are co-head coaches and will be guiding their charges through the four-day event.

Due to other obligations, four qualifers could not make the trip, which wiped out the 4 x 400 relay team.
