Hood County was well represented at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes All-Star basketball game held on June 4 in Brownwood, with three athletes participating.

Lipan Indian post Josh Harwell, Tolar Rattler post Grady McQuain and the Tolar Lady Rattler shooting guard Baili Deaver all saw action as starters for the North teams.

After four years of playing against each other, McQuain and Harwell were not only on the same team but were elected as team captains by their peers.

McQuain had a highlight-laden performance as he scored 27 points and pulled down 11 rebounds.

Harwell, a four-year post, was assigned to the point and shooting guards slots and came away with eight points and three boards.

In a game more focused on fun than points, the South came away with an 89-73 victory after the North managed to pull within six points during the second half.

In the girls game, Deaver started at point guard and put her defensive skills on display as she grabbed seven rebounds and scored two points in a 49-46 North loss to the South team.
